Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an interesting story to the Cambodia gambling halls that lie just over the border from next door Thailand, where gambling den gaming is not permitted. Eight gambling halls are established in a generally small location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia casinos is in a prime spot, a three to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The astonishing capital gained from the gambling dens ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a few restrictions constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; although, financial sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and even though visas are apparently required to cross, there are methods and means around this, as is accurate of most borders.

The 1st Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored boat casino, contains 150 slot machine games and 60 tables. The Naga gambling den never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are 150 one armed bandits and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slot machines and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slots and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 one armed bandits and 66 of the normal table games, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-around resort and hotel complex that contains a number of conveniences on top of the gambling den, which has 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machines and eighty eight table games.
